The Epic Romance

According to the Oxford Concise Dictionary of Literary Terms, a romance is “a fictional story in verse or prose that relates improbable adventures of idealized characters in some remote or enhanced setting..” (p. 221)

According to Professor Clayton, we see a clockwise progression over time (from the 12:00 o’clock position to the the 11:00 o’clock position from right to left starting with Childhood).
